Andre gained a BSc degree in Surgical Technology and graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2004. He began his surgical training at St. Mary’s Hospital in London and in 2006 became a full member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
In 2008 he was awarded one of three places as an Academic Clinical Fellow, and in 2009 was appointed a Clinical Innovation Fellow at Imperial College London. In 2010 he was awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship to pursue research in the fields of stem cell technology & biomaterials, and completed his PhD at Imperial College in 2012. Andre has over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications to his name and has also authored several book chapters. He has been an invited speaker at international surgical conferences on the subject of surgical quality assessment, and regularly presents on medical entrepreneurship and surgical training.
