The Director/Head of the HLA Scholars Programme ensures the successful delivery of the HLA Scholars initiative, overseeing its programme design, participant engagement, and evaluation frameworks. The role also involves fostering a supportive and innovative learning environment for scholars and ensuring alignment with the HLA’s overarching mission and goals.

Ensure the design and delivery of a high-quality, engaging scholars programme.

Manage the programme’s calendar, scheduling, and execution in line with HLA standards.

Maintain alignment of the programme with HLA’s mission and strategic objectives.

Scholar Engagement:

Oversee scholar recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.

Monitor scholars’ progress and provide proactive support to address challenges.

Foster a thriving learning community among scholars.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Design frameworks to assess scholars’ development and learning outcomes.

Conduct regular reviews of programme content for relevance and quality.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance programme offerings.

Integrate mentorship and professional development schemes into the programme structure.​

Requirements:

Must be a current or past HLA Cohort Director.

Attendance at monthly virtual team meetings (including evenings or weekends as needed).

Participation in key organisational events, both in-person and virtual.

Representing the HLA Scholars Programme at external forums and events.

Leading and supporting virtual team meetings using tools like Slack, email, and internal apps.

Overseeing and managing the programme’s budget.

Providing mentorship and guidance to scholars and team members.
